Porto Badisco is a seaside resort just south of Otranto, a tourist destination for its landscape but mainly for its history in mythology.

It is an old fishing village overlooking the Ionian Sea

Its inlet is a corridor about fifty meters wide, where at the deepest point it ended with a small beach unfortunately razed to the ground by the flood of a few years ago.

The rest of the inlet is rocky and deep sea, characteristic of the Eastern Ionian Sea: the blue of the sea and the sky are separated by a beautiful grove, it is a true jewel on the sea.

Porto Badisco is linked by the legend according to which the first to land was Aeneas, described in Virgil's Aeneid, who, fleeing from Troy, reached the village of Badisco to find shelter and received the help of the locals; from this comes the name "Enea's Landing Porto Badisco".
